 TODAY’S SCRIPTURES

RECEIVING THE ABUNDANT OIL OF GRACE

“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” -James 4:6

The concept of the Oil of Grace symbolizes God’s limitless favour, power, and presence flowing into our lives. Receiving this abundant gift, however, requires humility. Recognizing our limitations and dependence on God creates a fertile ground for His grace to take root. When we approach life with a humble heart, acknowledging that our strength and wisdom are insufficient, we open ourselves to receiving the divine power and resources God offers. This doesn’t imply diminishing our talents or abilities, but rather recognizing that they are ultimately gifts from God, entrusted to us for His purpose.

  PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you acknowledging my limitations and dependence on your grace. Forgive any areas of pride in my life and help me cultivate a humble heart receptive to your abundant love and blessings. Amen.

Action:

1.     Choose one action to practice humility today: Spend time in silence, reflecting on God’s greatness and your limitations.

2.     Confess any areas of pride in your life and ask for forgiveness.

3.     Reach out to someone and offer to serve them with a genuine and humble heart.

SCRIPTURE READING AND MEDITATION: Spend time reflecting on James 4:6 and Proverbs 11:2. Consider how these verses connect the concept of humility with receiving God’s grace.
