TITLE:  WHAT IS NEXT AFTER THE RESURRECTION?

 DAY  1 OF 14 SERIES (FRIDAY 5TH APRIL, 2024)

TOPIC:  Unveiling the Tomb: Hope Dawns Anew

AUTHOR: MARY LAWRENCE-DOKPESI

SCRIPTURE: “He is not here; he has risen!” (Luke 24:6)

REFLECTION

The first rays of dawn illuminate an empty tomb. Fear and despair that gripped the disciples are shattered. Jesus, crucified and buried, has conquered death! This single event, the resurrection, becomes the cornerstone of our faith, a beacon of hope that forever alters the landscape of humanity. Imagine the chill of pre-dawn air as Mary Magdalene approaches the tomb. The world seems shrouded in darkness, mirroring the disciples’ emotional state. Then, the sight – the massive stone rolled away, the tomb empty. A gasp escapes her lips, and a flicker of hope ignites within.

TAKE ACTION: Reflect on a fear that has gripped you. Write it down on a piece of paper and then write beside it, “But He has Risen!”

BENEFIT: The resurrection extinguishes the fear of death, replacing it with the promise of eternal life.

PRAYERS

Father, thank you for the glorious gift of your Son’s resurrection. Help me to truly grasp its meaning, to live each day with the knowledge that death does not have the final say. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

FURTHER EXPLORATION: Romans 5:1-5, 1 Corinthians 15:20-26
