YOUR POWER TO OVERCOME EVIL

“He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” – 1 John 3:8

God’s greatest gift to the world is the gift of a new life in Christ. The Scripture says God loves us so much that He would not let us go through life in suffering and pain caused by our sinfulness. Everyone who believes in the finished work of Christ on the cross ought to be in a state of deliverance from the forces of evil and demonic manipulations. 

As a believer, you must never forget that the power behind your deliverance is the cross, for you were adequately prepared to receive the Grace of God by way of the cross. The Bible says, “having cancelled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! And having disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:14 – 15). With the complete work of Jesus on the cross, going through life becomes easier! All your lapses, weaknesses and ego have been nailed to the cross, and the real you have arisen with Jesus to a state of new life in Christ Jesus. 

Further to this is that Jesus has already subdued all powers and principalities for your sake. If you believe in the work of Grace, then the Grace of God will carry you above sin and other weaknesses. This, of course, means that you have to make a deliberate attempt to remain in a state of Grace all the time. There is no other way to remain in a state of Grace other than to continue to believe, and by obedience to God, and imitation of Christ.

Today’s Scripture reminds us of the finished work of Grace. Do not entertain the devil or do anything to bring him back into your life again. He is a destroyer and a thief! When we dwell in sin, we allow the devil to live with us, steal away our success, or take away the life of abundance that Jesus has given us. 

 We suffer primarily from sin or disobedience to God or our inability to follow Jesus and His commandments. The new life in Christ is free from disease, ignorance and poverty. That is because Jesus has already removed the power that causes us pain and suffering – the devil! But if anyone willingly goes back into sin, he will undoubtedly invite the devil back into his life. But the Grace of God is sufficient to prevent us from sin. Therefore, plead His Grace and righteousness when you are faced with the forces of evil which try to pull you down from the state of Grace.

However, for inevitable suffering caused by genetics or DNA, those will continue to exist to show the mightiness of God’s power through divine healing. Therefore, if by no fault of yours, you find yourself suffering any condition or disease due to genetics, then be rest assured that the Grace of God will strengthen you in all areas of your weaknesses and grant you relief from pain and affliction. Nonetheless, the importance of medicine in cases of diseases caused by genetics is as crucial as the importance of our daily meals. Good meals and medication make prayers for healing to work faster for us. Therefore, as you take meals and medicine, always look straight to the open door of healing – JESUS CHRIST, to receive the influx of divine power that brings healing and relief. 

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I declare I am a product of your righteousness, and I am free and delivered by the blood of Jesus Christ, which sets me free from every captivity. Therefore, I subdue the power of sin in my life.  Open for me the great door of Hope and strength, and let me receive the influx of your divine power, which sets me free from pain and suffering. Thank you, Jesus, AMEN
