BE READY FOR THE CHANGE!

15th MAY 2020

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.”  –  Hebrews 11:8

Success is capable of different interpretations. Therefore, rather than use the word ‘success’, I like to say, CHANGE instead. Not ‘CHANGE’ in a political sense, like a popular political slogan that some brethren in Nigeria would like to chant. But here, I am referring to positive changes that reflect the inner beauty of God, as well as the changes that bring forth the plan and purpose of God for us as individuals. You must have heard people say that CHANGE is the only constant thing in the universe. This means that, whether we like it or not, changes are bound to occur in our lives several times in our lifetime.

Sometimes, it happens that the changes that we like to see in us are at variance with the plan and purpose of God for us. This then means that we have to pray to God to give us an insight into His plan and agenda for us as individuals and as a people. Every day, we pray for positive changes to occur in our lives. But we do not know how God would answer such prayers. The life of Abraham remains a good example of how God works to lift us to a higher dimension if only we are ready to trust and to believe in Him.

But Changes can sometimes be difficult to take, especially when we are not ready for them, or when we cannot trust God enough to lead us to a certain destination.  At some other times, changes can be quite comforting such as, even though we may not be quite prepared for the change, we are however lucky to see beautiful things happen to us. Sometimes God can call us to make individual changes or promised future changes in our lives. At some other times, some unforeseeable circumstances can cause the world around us to change drastically in such a way that we experienced some sort of imbalance.  But as children of God, we work by faith and not by sight. Therefore, no matter the pain or trauma accompanying change, we are confident that God is leading us to a good end, where only God will be pleased. God is pleased with us when we embrace change by faith, believing that God would perfect everything that pertains to us in the end.

When God called Abraham out of his place of birth, it must have been a difficult one for him. But he had faith and believed in the plan of God for him. Abraham shifted from his original position and focused on nowhere in particular. But nevertheless, Abraham trusted God completely. If Abraham did not move as commanded by God, he probably would not have earned the promises of God to this day.

Now it is your turn to move! As stated above, change is the only constant thing in life. That is because everything will eventually change according to the will of God. The change that God wants for us is global and eternal. He wants a change that will make us live life in a special way here on earth devoid of everything ungodly, as well as the greater change that will make us become the heirs to His kingdom. This is the reason that God wants us to change and renew our minds, living a holy life in contrast to the ungodliness in this world. (Ref: Romans 12:2) In doing so, he promises us that we will be changed, mortality putting on immortality and the physical becoming spiritual (Ref: Philippians 3:21; 1 John 3:2)

I do not know what you are experiencing right now. Some of us are definitely uncertain about life at the moment. Whether your experience at the moment is in a bad taste or not, be rest assured that everything works together for good for those who believe in God. Therefore, be rest assured that God is leading you somewhere according to His plan and purpose. Keep praying, keep trusting in God, and keep hope alive!

PRAYERS

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, today, I embrace a positive change that makes me the best version of myself. Help me Lord to gain a deeper insight into your plan and purpose for my life. From this day onward, I shall make a positive impact in my generation as well as generations yet unborn. Help me, God. AMEN.
