DAY 23 – 24 (MONDAY 4TH AND TUESDAY 5TH DECEMBER  2023)

AUTHOR: MARY LAWRENCE-DOKPESI

SCRIPTURE:

“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” – Psalm 37:5

FOLLOW HIS PATH, COMMITTING TO HIS GUIDANCE.

As we journey through life, we often find ourselves holding back from fully trusting God. We may be afraid to let go of our plans, dreams, and desires, fearing that we will lose control or that God may not provide any support for us. But the truth is, God desires to guide us and provide for us in ways we cannot imagine.

Although God has created different means to achieve success, not necessarily by following any kind of devotion or divine guidance, but following a systematic principle of commitment to God’s guidance and devotion allows us to experience divine transformation. Also, such systematic devotion as you will find in today’s devotional gives you unimaginable spiritual guidance, gift of expanded faith, enhanced moral principles, personal transformation, and an understanding of God’s individualized plans for each person.

Therefore, committing to God is quite rewarding as we constantly align our minds and soul with God, and His good purpose for us. The fact is that when we submit to God’s guidance in faith and humility, we are surrendering our will and desires to a higher power.  In addition to that, God often gives us a sense of service to others; transforming lives around us. That is because even though God’s plan may differ from our own, and His definition of success may not always align with societal or personal definitions, this unique aspect of surrendering to God’s guidance fosters a sense of purpose beyond individual achievements and encourages a focus on serving others and living according to moral and ethical principles.

Therefore, as we prepare to enter into the new year, I encourage us to follow this spiritual exercise; Not just for today and tomorrow, but also in most days of the new year:

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE:

1.     Surrender control of everything to God, believing that His plans are higher and mightier than ours.

2.      Seek spiritual discernment through prayers, meditation, and reflection. This will give us clarity as well as allow us to align our goals with their values and beliefs, leading to a more fulfilling journey.

3.     Embracing Service and Compassion. By focusing on making a positive impact on those around us, we can find fulfillment beyond personal achievements.

 PRAYERS:

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you today with an open heart and mind, seeking your guidance and provision. I confess that there are areas in my life where I struggle to trust you fully. I ask for your forgiveness and grace to trust you more deeply. Help me to surrender my plans, dreams, and desires to you, committing them to your faithful hands. I trust that you will work everything out for my good, according to your perfect will. Amen.
