ABIDE WITH ME!

24th OCTOBER 2021

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul – Genesis 2:7

The word “meditation” comes up regularly in our bible studies. Often, you hear people say they want to meditate on God’s word and yet find it challenging to start the process. What is meditation, and how does it benefit anyone?

Meditation is a process whereby we call forth the power of God upon a situation and will that something positive happens according to the WILL of God. In meditation, we are linked up with God and the entire creation and call forth the things we desire from the invisible. A lot of people get confused as to how this is possible. Although meditation is a complicated process, the fact remains that we can achieve a significant number of the things we want through meditation on God’s word. Meditation is made possible because God lives in you, and He is also present in all things.

Many people get challenged by the simple statement that “God is in all things”! He is everywhere and also in you to make you a living soul. That is so, apparently due to faulty reasoning that God is a physical Being, which assumption is incorrect. Contrary to our beliefs, God is Spirit whose essence or presence covers the entire expanse of the universe or the multiverse if you like. The scripture says that God is everywhere at all times, and He inhabits (dwells in) eternity (Jeremiah 23: 23 – 33). That means that God is eternal and has no beginning or end. This further means that God is not limited by space or time. That is why, perhaps, God’s divine spirit is present everywhere and, in all things, whether visible or invisible! (Psalm 139:7-10)

But why does God dwell in us? God manifests in us to give us life, health, and vitality; To provide us with a sense of spirituality, and create one of His kind who will aspire to be like Him. With God’s soul and power in us, we are closely bonded with Him and endowed with the ability to create the things we need and serve His glory here on earth.

Today’s word tells us how God extraordinarily formed man from the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils to give him life. That, of course, is the climax of God’s creative work, in that both man and God share one life and spirit. That also means that you are powerful beyond measures as you can connect with the power of God in you to actualize any of your positive desires. By the power of the Holy Spirit, connecting with God becomes much easier for us, giving us the ability to achieve great things.

However, to actualize our desires by the power of God in us, we need to constantly quicken the spirit of God in us and spur Him into action! How do we do that? Through meditation on God’s word at quiet times. By constant meditation on God’s word, we become infused with or attuned to the power of God in us, as well as the essence of the word of God. After a short while, we are sure to experience the blessings of that specific word of God! The art of meditation on God’s word is simple to apply. For instance, you may use the following process in your meditation:

·        Sit quietly in a place where you will not be easily disturbed.

·        Identify the specific promise of God that you want to materialize in your life.

·        Read the verse silently to yourself as many times as possible, making sure you understand the import of the verse.

·        Then proceed to visualize yourself receiving the promise from God; possess the promise and live it!

·          See yourself sharing your blessings with the rest of the world.

· see yourself incredibly happy and fulfilled!

During any period of meditation, our spirit comes into perfect alignment with the Divine Spirit of God and the particular Bible verse chosen for the meditation. We are richly blessed during the short periods spent in meditation on God’s word. The great benefit of meditation is that the attention of the divine spirit of God is focused on manifesting our desires. In the process of meditation, we receive the Life, Light, and Love of God (Ref: Psalm 42:7)

 PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I know that you dwell in me and I in you. Infuse me with your omnipotent power today that I may experience the miracle of your positive transformation in all aspects of my life. Thank you, father, AMEN
