LIVE IN THE NOW – A WAY TO OVERCOME ANXIETY!

January 6th 2019

“Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus”. –Philippians 4:6

A well-known slow killer disease in the history of humanity is a combination of anxiety and stress. Anxiety not checked leads to depression, confusion and lack of confidence. Major causes of anxiety are the following: worries about not making it, fear of poverty and insecurity. This is majorly so because life is not always easy and there are always moments that we find very difficult. I also understand that the reason so many go to church is because they desire to live a successful life free from poverty and insecurity. Beloved, I want you to know that I have also had difficult moments in my life, and I know exactly how you are feeling at the moment. But the truth is that anxiety and fear do not remove problems, but rather complicate or multiply them. Jesus Christ taught us to live in the now, as a way to overcome failure and poverty. As far as the Master is concerned, the troubles of one day are enough for that day. This is because when we think about our pasts and the future, we end up not enjoying the moments with its wonderful gifts. There are so many reasons things would not happen as we plan – reasons clearly beyond our controls. This is because you cannot change the universe directly and neither can you change how other people behave. But you can definitely change how you react to any negative influences. If you can accept whatever happens to you as the will of God for you in Christ Jesus, then you have solved all your problems as well as healing your anxiety.

If you truly wish to overcome poverty and fear, then the PRINCIPLE is that you refuse to think about the future, On the other hand, if what you are experiencing now is in fact poverty, fear and grave insecurity, the PRINCIPLE is that you must accept all that as the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. This may sound foolish to some of us. But remember that when God gives a commandment, He gives you a miracle in return for your obedience to His command. Today’s scripture says; DO NOT WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING, RATHER PRAY FOR EVERYTHING with thanksgiving, then, God will grant you peace and fulfillment. To overcome anxiety, try taking the following steps everyday:
1. Pray. Spend some time talking to your Heavenly Father. Tell Him your heartache
2. Believe in God's plan. Our God is a miracle worker. ...
3. Trust. It is not easy to trust God when you feel like things are out of control, but that's exactly what you have to do in order for His grace to abide with you.

Prayer
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for today’s word. Lord I commit everything into your hands. Give me the inner light to comprehend your commandment as well as the inner strength to overcome. AMEN.
